A stronghold of authentic Italian cuisine in the heart of Switzerland: the restaurant “DA MÈ” in Elgg, already certified Gold last year, has now achieved the Platinum level of the ITA0039 | 100% Italian Taste Certification. This comes after a new audit conducted by ASACERT – the certification, inspection, and training body that developed the protocol – as part of the annual monitoring and improvement system.

This achievement rewards not only the quality of the culinary offering but also the consistency and evolution of a project born from a clear mission: to tell the story of authentic Italian cuisine, built on memory, carefully selected ingredients, and a deep passion for tradition.

At the helm of “DA MÈ” are Alessia Tierno, originally from the province of Salerno, and Thomas Wehrle, a Swiss national with a long-standing background in gourmet dining. Together, they’ve created a restaurant that is much more than just a place to eat: it’s a corner of Italy where every dish carries the taste of home and the warmth of family.

“We’ve always believed that the difference lies in the details: the time devoted to preparation, the respect for traditional recipes, and the authentic connection with our land and its raw ingredients. This new recognition fills us with pride and motivates us even more to stay on this path,” says Alessia. The very name of the restaurant, “DA MÈ” – meaning “at my place” – is an invitation: come to my home, where everything is authentic, welcoming, and deeply Italian.

The restaurant’s menu, featuring signature dishes like fusilli al ferretto with pork ribs in sauce or orecchiette with turnip greens and sausage, is just one part of the experience. The rest is made up of the warm, family-like atmosphere, the active presence of Alessia’s mother and sister in the dining room, and a heartfelt philosophy of hospitality that makes every guest feel like part of one big Italian table.

Reaching the Platinum level is both confirmation and accomplishment: tangible proof of a continued commitment to preserving authenticity and offering an experience that reflects the true values of Italian cuisine.

“At a time when Italian Sounding damages the image of our agri-food tradition – costing Italy billions of euros each year – the ITA0039 certification stands as a guarantee for consumers and a clear mark of distinction for restaurateurs,” says Fabrizio Capaccioli, CEO of ASACERT and creator of the Protocol. “Our goal is to protect Italian excellence around the world through a rigorous control system and a network of restaurants that are true ambassadors of our culinary culture. Congratulations to Alessia, Thomas, and the entire ‘DA MÈ’ team on this achievement. We are confident it won’t be the last.”

“DA MÈ” thus continues its virtuous journey within the network of ITA0039 | 100% Italian Taste certified restaurants, becoming an increasingly strong point of reference for those seeking the true soul of Italian cuisine – even beyond national borders.
